A$AP Rocky’s impact goes far beyond music
Over the past decade, A$AP Rocky has become one of the most influential figures in modern hip-hop, not just for his sound, but for how he reshaped the genre’s visual language. With billions of streams and a reputation for bending styles and expectations, Rocky’s work sits at the intersection of music, fashion, and art.
Born Rakim Mayers in Harlem, New York, Rocky began making music at a young age and found his breakthrough as part of the A$AP Mob collective. His 2011 mixtape Live.Love.A$AP helped redefine East Coast hip-hop, while his debut album Long.Live.A$AP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and later went double platinum. Tracks like “Fkin’ Problems”** earned Grammy recognition, and later projects At.Long.Last.A$AP and Testing leaned further into experimentation, psychedelic production, and introspective themes.
Rocky’s collaborations read like a snapshot of modern pop culture, spanning artists such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, FKA twigs, Frank Ocean, Playboi Carti, and 21 Savage. He’s equally known for pulling unexpected influences into hip-hop, sampling artists like Tame Impala and Moby to expand the genre’s boundaries.
Fashion, visuals, and creative control
Outside of music, A$AP Rocky has established himself as a creative force in fashion and design. He serves as creative director for Ray-Ban and PUMA, and leads the multidisciplinary creative agency AWGE, which collaborates with major global brands and supports emerging artists. AWGE’s latest collection was showcased at Paris Fashion Week in June 2025, earning international attention for its bold, culture-forward approach.
Rocky has also directed many of his own music videos, produces under the alias Lord Flacko, and continues to blur the line between artist and curator — a defining trait of his career.
What to expect in Riga
After drawing around 20,000 fans at the 2022 Positivus Festival, Rocky’s upcoming Riga show promises something bigger and more immersive. The September 24 performance at Xiaomi Arena will offer Latvian fans a rare chance to experience A$AP Rocky’s full solo production — likely blending new material from Don’t Be Dumb with fan favorites from across his catalog.
The Riga stop is part of the Don’t Be Dumb World Tour, which kicks off May 27, 2026, in Chicago and spans 42 dates across North America and Europe, before closing in Paris on September 30, 2026.
